Age Categories
** Age is determined as of January 1st of the competition year.
• 4 & Under, Novice or Elite.
• 7 & Under, Novice or Elite.
• 9 & Under, Novice or Elite.
• 12 & Under, Novice or Elite.
• 16 & Under, Novice or Elite.
• Open Age (17+), Novice or Elite.
• Teachers & Professionals (for those who teach or perform professionally)
* Make sure to include your solo title, style, age group and ability level in the notes below.
Marking Criteria
All competitors will be scored out of 100 using the following breakdown;
• Technique – 55 points
• Performance Quality – 35 points
• Grooming – 10 points
This scoring formula ensures a balanced evaluation of technical skill, artistry, and presentation. There will be two adjudicators, scores will be averaged for final score.
All performers will be celebrated online receiving global recognition, and everyone will receive a certificate regardless of placing.
Awards
Every dancer is a star in our competition! All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation to celebrate their hard work. Top performers will be awarded ribbons and certificates for First, Second, and Third place, while our overall winners in each age group will receive dazzling tiaras! We offer both digital and physical awards to recognize your dancer’s achievements, plus a special Director’s Choice Award for standout performances. Get ready to shine!
Adjudication:
All adjudication results are final. Once results are announced, we will strive to have all physical awards mailed within 7 days of the competition. Digital awards will be sent within 24 hours.
Dance Styles
Classical Ballet – A technical and graceful style emphasizing precision, balance, and artistry.
Jazz – High-energy movement with sharp lines, leaps, and turns, blending ballet technique with commercial or theatrical elements.
Musical Theatre / Broadway – A performance-based style incorporating dance, acting, and optionally singing, inspired by Broadway productions.
Hip Hop / Commercial Dance – A dynamic street-style dance including popping, locking, and freestyle, often seen in music videos.
Contemporary – Expressive and fluid, blending ballet, modern, and jazz elements with floor work and abstract storytelling.
Lyrical – A fusion of ballet and jazz, emphasizing fluid movement, storytelling, and emotional expression.
Modern Theatre – A dramatic and interpretive style incorporating elements of modern dance and expressive movement.
Demi Character – A ballet-based performance where dancers portray a character through movement and mime.
Student Choreography – Original choreography in any style, showcasing creativity, musicality, and movement innovation.
Monologue: Is a speech in theatre or film, revealing a character's thoughts or feelings.
Vocal Solo: Is a singing performance of any genre of song.
** Make sure your video is no more than 3 minutes for solos and 5 minutes for troupes.
Make sure you have permission from your choreographer to enter.
